Post-Transplant Guidelines

In 2012, the CIBMTR (in partnership with leading transplant organizations) published post-transplant care recommendations1 for adult and pediatric autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant recipients. These recommendations have been adapted into easy-to-understand guidelines and are now available through NMDP. There are two versions of the guidelines (patient and clinician) offered in multiple formats (print, online, mobile app) to help patients and clinicians understand and plan for the specialized care of transplant recipients.

Medicare Clinical Trials

The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) expanded coverage to HCT for MDS, sickle cell disease, myelofibrosis, and multiple myeloma under Coverage with Evidence Development (CED). This means transplants for these indications need to take place within a CMS-approved clinical study that meets federal guidelines.
