Who We Are

CIBMTR® (Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research®) is a research collaboration between the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and NMDP.



CIBMTR is funded through a variety of sources, including National Institutes of Health (NIH) awards, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) contracts; Office of Naval Research grants, industry sponsors, MCW, and NMDP.

Strategic Priorities

  1. Data centralization, including unified data model (data):  
    Centralize CIBMTR data through one system reducing redundancy
  2. Data transformation (innovation):  
    Automate CIBMTR data collection to reduce reliance on manual data entry and facilitate rapid data sharing
  3. Succession planning (next generation):  
    Develop a clear succession plan for CIBMTR leadership positions at multiple levels
  4. Industry collaborations (research):  
    Increase speed, scope, and strategic industry collaborations to facilitate corporate studies and industry-funded clinical trials
  5. Data sharing (data):  
    Create processes to make refreshed data immediately available, which are flexible and can be easily utilized
  6. Access to cellular therapy (equity):  
    Ensure CIBMTR promotes representative research and processes to improve access to cellular therapies
