We obey the United States Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our data systems follow the Federal Information Systems Management Act of 2002 and the recommendations of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Our Institutional Review Board (IRB) is fully accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs.

System Of Record Notice (SORN)

CIBMTR and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) maintain a System Of Record Notice (SORN) as required by the Privacy Act of 1974 to notify the public of the creation or changes to systems of records. CIBMTR is identified in the Federal Register by the System Number 09–15–0068 and is entitled C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program.
